Secret Shopping For A Living- Sort Of by Paul Heingarten

Greetings from your friendly Prisoner of Work. I hope you've been exploring the many opportunities for making money on the internet. The only way to find that home business for you is to try, try and try again. Like the saying goes, "You have to kiss some frogs before you find that princess/prince."
The promise of being a Secret Shopper is considerable - you are assigned to go to a place of business and perform some kind of action. You may be asked to make a purchase, make an inquiry about a purchase, or simply observe conditions at the location. You then make a report about your findings and you are usually compensated in some way, like being reimbursed for your purchase or receiving a fee for your work. The compensation you receive is dependent on if the company accepts your work. You are required to follow specific directions in order for your report to be accepted.
I've registered for several secret shopper programs. I've performed shops at restaurants like Piccadilly Cafeteria and Papa John's and easy loan places so far. You may have read of people who are making a full time income doing secret shopping. I think those people must live in major metropolitan areas, as the offers for secret shopper jobs I've seen are not numerous enough to live on in my area. I've usually just been reimbursed for my purchases, with the occasional fee I received without having to spend anything.
Most secret shopper sites function the same way: register for free, then search for jobs you would like to perform and apply for those jobs. Keep in mind the following:
1) If you live in a smaller city or medium sized city, the jobs may not be very plentiful and the competition for them could be great. I found I needed to register several weeks in advance for some jobs, as they would be filled quickly.
2) If you sign up for a secret shopper service, many of the companies listed in the service may not still be in operation. I ran into this on several occasions.
3) Make sure you put in a detailed report, following all directions as given. I've never had a report rejected, but I imagine the secret shopper companies would be inclined to reject a report if the directions for completing and submitting are not followed.
Overall I think you can make some money from secret shopping. I don't think you could do this for a primary source of income, unless you live in a major city and don't mind spending a lot of time completing detailed (and sometimes lengthy) reports. The ratio of time spent working to the financial benefit is average, from my experience. I found the benefits of secret shopping for me to be largely getting some meals for free.
That's not bad - its just not the money machine I and you are looking for to break out of our work prison.
Until next time - keep up the search!
Paul

Online Business - 4 Ways to Make Money by Matt Helphrey

I know a lot of us are searching for different opportunities to make some money. The bills are adding up and the holidays are just around the corner. Today is the day for you to learn how to use the internet to provide you and your family some much needed extra cash!

In searching for jobs recently, I found that people with no experience at all with computers were making a lot of money online. I immediately thought, "How fantastic!" The thought of being able to make a living from a computer and internet connection was too intriguing to surpass. If they can do it, I can do it. From that point on I was determined to make the internet work for me.

There are so many different opportunities to make money with an online business. Listed below are just four ways to profit from the internet...

1) Affiliate programs- There are many companies online that offer commission based incentives. They provide you with all of the training and tools you need to market their products. If you happen to sell any of their products or refer any people to them, they will cut you a commission check every month. By enrolling in multiple programs, you really increase your chance to make a ton of money. Most of these programs are absolutely 100% free!

2) PLR products- PLR stands for private label rights. People offer online products for resale distribution. Most of these products are software or information based. You can make money off of these types of products by purchasing them and redoing them so they have your name and your website printed all over them. Once you purchase them, they are legally yours to resell at will. By completely overhauling these products and making them exclusively yours, can make you a huge profit.

3) Get paid to take surveys- Some companies and corporations pay a lot of money for market research. You can sign up through various companies that find all the surveys that are available. Once you complete the survey and meet the proper requirements, you get paid!

4) Write articles- Just by writing articles like this, you can make money! Some people just don't have the gift of the pen, but they do need to promote their product and/or website. If you think you are a decent to good writer, outsource your skill and use it as an opportunity to make money.

Starting a business online is easy but does require a good amount of work. If you really want to succeed making money online, I suggest you do a combination of any or all of these opportunities or come up with your own. Just know that there are people making money online and you can too!

How to Select a Home Business by Zach Thompson

Operating a home business is the opportunity to gain financial freedom without working a traditional office job or other type of traditional job. It is very important to consider several things when you are selecting a home business. Selecting the ideal business can provide you with the opportunity toward the road of financial freedom and being your own boss. Ideally, you need to select a home business that you will feel comfortable running and enjoy spending hours working toward your personal dreams and goals.

The first thing to keep in mind when you operate a home business is that you will be spending a great deal of your time in the business. You should select a business that you will enjoy. You can also select something that you know a great deal about. The other option is to select a home business after you have taken the time to research and learn about a new business. It is important not to randomly select a home business about something you know nothing about in hopes of making your dreams come true. For example, you would not want a home business for breeding horses if you have never been around horses, ridden a horse, or even knowing the pregnancy cycle of a horse.

Another aspect to keep in mind when selecting a home business is to choose an industry that is growing. Typically, you will be providing a product for distribution or service to a client base. It is easer to build a client base for a market that is growing and in high demand. For example, distributing racecar tires is a limited market because only racecar drivers will need the tires. On the other hand, fitness products, beauty products, and nutritional supplements can be used by virtually everyone and has a high market of people needing the products and information.

Keep in mind, a demand for a particular service or product is important so that you will select a home business that will build a repeat client or customer base. If your product or service is something that people will want more of or come back for time and time again, you will have more chances of succeeding and building a strong customer base. For example, if you distribute washing machines, there is a high demand market for these products. However, the average household has only one washing machine and that machine services everyone in the household instead of each person having a separate washing machine. On the other hand, consumable products such as nutritional supplements would be taken by each individual and they will need to replace the nutritional supplements after their supply is exhausted.

Select a product or service that customers and clients can receive an immediate benefit from your home business. Consumers are more likely to purchase services and products if they feel that they received something worth their money. Products and services that provide noticeable benefits in a short amount of time are more likely to be purchased and used than items that take a long time to see the benefits. For example, if the home business distributes home fitness equipment, consumers can immediately save from not having to go to a gym, increased energy, and some people will even experience weight loss.

10 Reasons Why People Fail To Make Money Online

10 Reasons Why People Fail To Make Money Online

Are you one of those people who just keep dumping money into e-book after e-book, and system after system hoping that it's going to finally be the big one? Facts show that only 5% of the people who start a home based business will have good success, and only 1% will have extremely good success. So why do people fail time after time, and never make any money online?

1. Lack of support and training. Most people starting a home-based business have no idea how to market online, and they have no clue where to even start. This leads to confusion, and frustration, which eventually leads to failure.

2. They never do anything. People get into a business then for some reason or another they just sit there and think they will magically make money without doing a signal thing.

3. No time to do anything. Most people who join a home business are working either a part time job, or a full-time job. They also might have a family to attend to. A work at home business just simply gets in the way of their every day routine, and they have no time to invest into the business after they join.

4. Lack of focus. People get side tracked very easily, and also give up much sooner then they should. They lack the focus and concentration you need to become successful online.

5. No money to invest. People think they can make money online for only $20 - $50. We all know you need to spend money to make money. Some people just simply lack the extra funds you need to get a business off the ground.

6. Fear of failure. People sit on the fence wondering "what if" so long that their mind gets filled up with nothing but fear. So when they finally do join a business their mind is already programmed with fear and failure.

7. The classic "scam". Everyone thinks everything online is a big money making scam. That's incorrect there are no scams online. What you get out of the business is whatever you put in. People want success so bad that if it doesn't happen within a week they call the program a scam and quit.

8. To much hype. I understand everyone wants to make money, but some people will say I want to make 10 – 20k within my first month. More then likely that will not happen, and when they find out it didn't they give up. Making money online is hard work.

9. No help from their sponsor. Most people get little or no help from the person who brought them into the business. They easily become lost, and confused. Within their first month they are so mad they just give up.

10. No money. People just simply lack the funds to start up a business. They can't join one so they are never even giving the opportunity to try.

People fail for a number of different reasons when it comes to making money online. The bottom line though is that success comes from within, and if you believe you can make it happen then sooner or later it will. Just make sure to never give up trying, and to always work towards your goals no matter how long it takes.
